Polyresin Shutters

Polyresin shutters are the primary and longest standing line of shutters offered by Alta Window Fashions

As part of their Eclipse Shutters Collection. Eclipse Shutters are made of a polyresin that will never fade, warp, chip or crack and carry a 25 year warranty.

Manufactured in 3 colours (White, Almond and Ivory) this makes colour selection easy. A surprising part of the design process with shutters is the understanding that your pre-existing window casing is generally replaced or majority covered with new vinyl frame making a perfect colour match to pre-existing trim none essential.

The most popular colour by far is white with the Ivory a close second choice. Deciding on the right louver size for your space is another important aspect to explore during your shutter design process. An important rule of thumb is “the larger the louver, the more you can see through the shutter when opened”.

Polyresin Eclipse shutters are available in 2.5’’, 3.5’’ and 4.5’’ louver sizes. Generally, only very large windows can accommodate the 4.5” louver size with 2.5” being the most popular choice on average. Frame style and tilt option greatly impact the end look, feel and functionality of shutters. The frame is the material that creates the perimeter casing that is fastened to the wall and holds the weight of the shutter via the hinges. The frame style and curvature is generally dictated by the pre-existing trim in place but this will be discussed further in your in-home consultation.

The L-Frame and Bullnose Z Frame are the most popular frame choices. Scenic Shutters’ preferred tilt option is the gear system, where the tilt bar mechanism is built into the side rails of the shutter. They’re internal to the shutter frame and therefore invisible, drastically improving “see through” of the finished shutter without impacting the ease and simplicity of operating your louvers.

Wooden shutters, made from 100% renewable and ethically harvested hardwood are kiln dried and

custom made to showcase the unique texture created by mother nature. They come in a wide array of colours and stains bringing nature’s elegance and depth of colour into your space. Eclipse wooden shutters are built with interlocking dovetail construction. These are simply the finest shutters offered in today’s market. The above information about louvers, frame and tilt styles are identical to the polyresin shutters mentioned above.

When purchasing Wooden Shutters, customers have a choice to have them produced overseas or domestically. Oversea production carries a 60 day minimum lead time to receiving your shutters once

the order is released to production (in addition to shipping time). This allows for significant savings but customers can’t be a rush to receive and have their shutters installed. Domestically produced wooden shutters carry an approximate 4-5 business week lead time (plus shipping) from when the order is released.
